Compare the Ford Bronco to the Toyota 4Runner and Jeep Wrangler
When you need an SUV that keeps up with your off-road travels, you can't afford to lose features that make the drive easier. Thankfully, that's not a problem when you climb into the driver's seat of a new Ford Bronco. The Bronco offers off-road performance above all else but won't sacrifice features and comforts to achieve legendary capability. At our Ford dealership, we want you to get the model that works hard and plays hard!
However, you won't find the Ford Bronco alone at the top. Options like the Toyota 4Runner and Jeep Wrangler are sure to present formidable competition, offering off-road traveling and the capability to match the Ford Bronco. Which one is right for you? We can help! Consider the comparisons our team offers of the Bronco to its 4Runner and Wrangler competition. We'll show you what the Ford Bronco has to offer!
Ford Bronco vs. Toyota 4Runner
When you need a rugged, off-road performer, the first thing you'll consider is what you can find under the hood. The new Ford Bronco comes standard with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder. This turbocharged engine produces 275 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, giving you plenty of muscle to conquer your commute. You can also equip an optional 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged 330-horsepower engine if you prefer a little more robust capability. The Toyota 4Runner only utilizes one engine option, a 4.0-liter V6 that delivers 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. Not only do you have one less option, but it also fails to match the Bronco's base powertrain.

Off-road driving sounds fun, but it's made possible with the right all-wheel drive system. The Ford Bronco boasts impressive four-wheel drive and features a Terrain Management Systemâ„¢ with G.O.A.T. Modesâ„¢ to allow you to go over any terrain. You can also take advantage of Trail Control, class-exclusive Trail Turn Assist, and Trail 1-Pedal Drive inside to make your life easier. The Toyota 4Runner doesn't come standard with four-wheel drive, meaning you'll need to pay more to undertake off-road journeys. You also won't find the same selection of features available in the Ford Bronco.
Ford Bronco vs. Jeep Wrangler
Once again, the Ford Bronco brings the strongest base engine option to the competition. The Bronco's base 2.3-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder engine delivers 275 horsepower and 315 pound-feet of torque, offering a standard 10-speed automatic transmission or an optional seven-speed manual transmission to give you more control over your drive. The Jeep Wrangler returns with its base 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6, making 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. While the Wrangler does produce more horsepower, it can't accelerate nearly as fast as the Bronco.

Are you interested in getting a little wet on your adventures? Both SUVs are equipped to ford through streams and look good with a little mud on the sides. The four-door Bronco® Raptor features a maximum running ground clearance of 13.1-inches and a water fording capability of up to 37 inches. If you prefer something with less power, the Bronco lineup still offers the best-in-class ground clearance for its class, with 11.6-inches on its 2-door model and 33.5-inches of water fording capability. The Jeep Wrangler can only offer a maximum of 10.9-inches of ground clearance with its standard models and will have to be wary of deeper streams - it can't ford the same depth as the Bronco.
